Jewelry is something that I have found very intriguing and interesting.

For some time, I have been a collector of Pandora and Trollbeads, as most who have read my past articles are familiar with my tastes and knowledge of these brands.

Recently, I have seen a new jewelry brand emerge. All over my Facebook wall, I have been bombarded with something called Origami Owl. At first, I will admit I ignored it and went about my business.

But then, I got invited to two different online hosted hosted events and decided I needed to do a bit more research about this.

So here today, I am sharing what I found out from reading up a bit about these clever new pendants in hopes to help others who too are curious about this jewelry line.

What is Origami Owl?

So what is Origami Owl? It is a custom jewelry line that believe it or not was founded by a young girl named Bella (Isabella) around her 16th birthday.

See Bella dreamed of owning a car. I know what young girl doesn't have this dream in their teen years. But Bella actually made that dream come true by creating this custom jewelry company. And yes she did end up owning her very own Jeep, thanks to her ingenuity.

And now, Origami Owl has thousands that host jewelry parties with this unique jewelry line. That is where these online parties that have been cropping up seem to come into play.

Living Lockets

The Living Lockets seem to be all the rage right now and Origami Owl's big seller.. These are the pieces of jewelry that I have been seeing over and over again everywhere I turn on my social media networks.

These are labeled and described as "Every Locket Has A Story" and in building one, "What Is Yours?".

There are 5 steps in total in creating your very own Living Locket. The steps are as follows:

  1. Charms
  2. Lockets
  3. Chains
  4. Plates
  5. Dangles.

Step 1: Charms

The first step is to pick out charms. These charms tell your own story by choosing those things that are indeed important to you. You can choose from quite a few different categories. The categories are as follows:

  • accent stones
  • animals
  • birthstones
  • causes
  • celebrations
  • faith
  • family
  • food
  • greek letters
  • hobbies and occupations
  • holiday
  • initials
  • love
  • music
  • numbers
  • sports
  • travel
  • vintage.

As you can clearly see their many to choose from and pretty much the sky is the limit here.

Step 2: Lockets

Now that you have picked your charms, the next step is to choose a locket. The lockets themselves come in two sizes:

  • Medium
  • Large

And come in three different colors, as well. You can choose:

  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Rose.

And last but not least you can choose either with crystals or without.

Step 3: Chains

Once you have chosen your charms and locket, now you must pick out a chain to wear it on. First you can either choose a ball station design or rolo chain or a flat oval link chain.

Here you can also decide if you like gold, silver or rose colored chains.

And the lengths vary from 16" all the way to 32".

Again, you have quite a few choices here as far as chains go.
